Coolspirit engaged ORIIUM with a large NHS client to help manage their on-premise Commvault backup environment. The client regularly needed over 100 hours to process the jobs across their large and distributed server estate.
The client – a large NHS foundation trust
Having the time to manage their current Commvault solution whilst trying to firefight other IT problems across the trust, often caused issues and conflicted with the on-going maintenance of their solution, especially during staff holidays.
In times where resources and budgets are being squeezed, the trust wanted to get the most out of their solution and optimise the resources they had so that the solution was streamlined and therefore more effective for them.
Lack Of Time
The client firstly needed assistance in resolving their current solution issues, which had in part built up over a series of months, due to a lack of available time to sufficiently investigate and resolve the cause of job errors.
Need Outside Help
Secondly, the client desperately wanted to explore the use of an outside team or could help them with the daily activities of management and support, eventually enabling the client to re-deploy resources to more crucial errors of the trust.

ORIIUM provided an initial health check of the client’s current Commvault infrastructure, helping to identify current issues that were attributing to bottlenecks on their backup activities.
Following this, ORIIUM implemented a managed service using a secure remote console link, in which ORIIUM was able to take full control of the client’s Commvault solution to fully monitor daily job statuses, manage and resolve any errors immediately and help implement Commvault best practice during the operation and day to day maintenance of their on-premise solution.
